Finding Bliss after Burnout
Ep 51- 4 Ways To Develop Your Self Trust
Number 1 - Keeping your promises!
Keeping promises to oneself is the cornerstone of building self-reliance and integrity. It's about aligning our actions with our aspirations, fostering deep self-respect and reliability in our journey.
Are you holding yourself to your word? Are you doing the things you say you are going to do? Or do you come up with excuses and not follow through with your plans, your goals and dreams?
This could look like say planning out your meal plan then going rogue and not sticking to the plan, not moving your body and then saying “oh well I’ll try again next week” only to see the same thing happen the next week.
Your unconscious mind remembers this right, and what happens when this pattern or similar patterns of you breaking trust with yourself over and over again, what happens is that it creates the imprint in your unconscious mind that you cannot trust you!
When you honor the promises you make to yourself, you reinforce your sense of self-integrity. It builds trust within yourself, affirming that you're reliable and committed to your own well-being and goals.
Number 2 - Consistency!
Consistency is the key to success in all things.
Maintaining consistency requires dedication and prioritizing our well-being, our goals, and the direction we want our life to go.
It's about showing up for ourselves, and nurturing sustainable habits that propel us toward our goals."
It's the engine that drives progress and reinforces your belief in your own capabilities, leading to the cultivation of self-trust.
What does that look like? It might be creating consistency in your habits and routines, waking early in the morning, creating a consistent exercise routine.
Consistency really is the bridge between our intentions and our actions.
Number 3 - Self awareness
Self-awareness plays a crucial role in learning to trust yourself because it involves understanding your thoughts, emotions, strengths, weaknesses, and values.
By being self-aware, you can observe patterns in your behavior, thoughts, and decision-making process. This understanding helps you evaluate whether these patterns positively or negatively affect your ability to trust yourself.
When you understand yourself better, you gain confidence in your own abilities and judgments. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses enables you to trust your strengths while working on improving areas where you may lack confidence.
Overall, self-awareness allows you to navigate life's challenges, make decisions confidently, and maintain a strong sense of authenticity and integrity in your actions and choices.
Number 4 - Setting intentions really is about using our intent as a means to guide our path. By setting clear intentions, we direct our focus and energy towards what truly matters. Intentions align our thoughts and actions with the future we envision, and we align with the future outcome we envision we are cultivating self-trust every step of the way.
Every day I set my intentions, whether I’m working at home, having a meeting, recording a podcast, planning a holiday, meeting a friend for lunch, I set my intent.
It’s a powerful process that I’ve embraced that has cultivated the deepest self trust that honestly took me 46 years to finally grasp.
Remember, self-trust is an ongoing commitment.
Start small, be patient with yourself, and celebrate your progress along the way.
